Jordans Rentals Shop Sign Warrington

Jordans Rentals Shop Front Sign Warrington

Jordan's Rentals in the Town Centre of Warrington in Cheshire was in a conservation area and the building itself was of a very traditional shop front.

The shop frontage was stripped back and repainted to a very high standard and UK Sign designed the signs for the shop under strict guidelines of the local council.

After discussions the planning officer agreed for the design to be put forward for planning approval at the next council planning meeting and it was accepted.

We then proceeded to manufacture and install the sign - the client was very pleased with the result.

Most UK shop fronts and commercial buildings will require a planning application for a new sign, however if the sign is being replaced "as is" or is under repair or maintenance, it would not normally need a further planning approval, unless it hadn't had planning approval in the first place - best to check with your local council before proceeding. It is almost a certainty that any major change to the shop sign (i.e. change of illumination, size, impact to the vicinity) will require a new application as will shop signs being installed to new builds.

In general terms, most councils adopt a similar approach to planning, although certain listed areas and areas where heritage is important may be dealt with slightly differently. UK Sign has had considerable success with planning/advertising consents across the country in this regard.

One item most councils are adopting a policy against is light pollution, most large "white" light boxes with simple cut vinyl lettering are now being rejected. Halo or cut through lighting is more favourable and many examples of this may be seen in our portfolio.
